If spring is a blink and miss week in Delhi, Penguin India wants to make the most of it. The publishing house has tied up with the India Habitat Centre for Spring Fever, a festival of books, music, readings and quizzes.
Last year, Penguin had set up an open air library at the amphitheatre, this year, the library is back with the latest titles from Penguin India. “The library was a great hit and was well-appreciated. We thought it would be a good idea to design an interactive literary festival for a week, with an intimate and comfortable ambience,” says Hemali Sodhi, Penguin India.
The library has cushioned armchairs for browsers and buyers alike, and the books have been lined from one end of the amphitheater to the other. The latest titles from Penguin include Metro Reads, a series of short fiction priced at at Rs 150 each, and the Words of Freedom series, a collection of the writings and speeches of 14 political and spiritual leaders such as Bhagat Singh, Jawaharlal Nehru and Rabindranath Tagore.
