Indian Embassy in Kuwait marked Hindi Diwas, where members of the Indian community actively participated in creative activities which included competition in poetry writing and elocution. The function was organised with a view to promote the use of Hindi and brainstormed on "The contribution of Bollywood to the promotion of Hindi".
Ambassador of India to Kuwait Ajai Malhotra gave away the prizes to the successful participants.
Ambassador Malhotra said it was particularly heartening that many children as well as several whose mother tongue was not Hindi had enthusiastically participated in the competition.
He said that certificates of appreciation would be given to all the participants.
B S Bisht bagged the first prize while the joint second prize went to M P Bhartiya and Manoj Kumar Mandal. Panchali Das won the third prize. A consolation prize in the non-Hindi speaking category was awarded to Shreya Haldar.
