The latest entrant into that fast growing list is Anish Sarkar, who has also decided to stray from his tech and B-school background and venture into the world of letters. His debut novel Benaami is about a software engineer who is visited by flashes from his past life, and how he sets out to unravel the secrets of his previous birth with the help of an attractive history professor.
“It took me around four years to write this novel. The only things I wrote seriously before this were emails and office reports,” says Sarkar, 37. Evidently, you don’t need practice if you are a natural born writer.
