Byomkesh Bakshi - comes to Calcutta after 43 years

After 43 long years the typical Bengali sleuth Byomkesh is back again in a new-avatar in Anjan Dutt's Byomkesh Bakshi, based on Sharadindu's Adim - Ripu, television boy Abir Chatterjee palying the sleuth! With Shahswata Chatterjee playing the role of his Jeeves, Ajit.

To sum it up, I must sat that Anjan's effort has paid; he has made a clean and tight movie with the flavour intact. The script is good, so's the cinematography. Abir Chatterjee and Shaswata Chatterjee, along with Chandan Sen, Rudranil Ghosh has delivered what was expected.

Byomkesh Bakshi is a fictional detective character, created by Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay, a renowned author in Bengali literature. Earlier, television shows has been made based on the stories of the detective.
Anjan Dutta has shot the film in black and white to give it an authentic feel of the time on which the story is set. The story is based on the backdrop of pre-Independence period and post-World War II.
