Bhagat amongst most influential list

Author Chetan Bhagat is among the five Indians who are among the 201 global hotshots vying for a slot in history. Voting is currently underway for Time magazine’s 2010 list of ‘100 Most Influential People in the world’.

The five Indians on the list are Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, actors Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta and author Chetan Bhagat.

Bhagat, shortlisted for being the “biggest-selling English-language author in India's history”, is elated. “I’m truly humbled and delighted. Influence and change has been at the core of my work and it’s amazing to be noticed globally for it. This recognition will lend greater credibility to my voice,” he told HT City.

Among the international names on the list are Barack Obama and Tiger Woods.
