Heart in her sole and magic in her hands

Dance, choreography, teaching, Reiki practice, crystal-healing, TV serials, modelling, event-management, poetry — Tripti Bhupen has sure packed a lot into her life while being a wife and mother too. And as if that’s not enough work, she’s now planning to bring out a book on dance and emotions AND write lyrics for film songs!

The vivacious Tripti grew up in different parts of north India, imbibing various cultures and a cosmopolitan outlook. She’s always been fascinated by dance, so it wasn’t surprising that she came down south after high school to enrol in Kalakshetra, the famed Bharatanatyam institute in Chennai.

She earned a first class for her graduation and PG degrees form Kalakshetra and while at it, learnt Tamil and some Telugu too.

Tripti was by now convinced that she had to build a career in dance. She returned to Delhi to perform and take advanced classes under well-known Bharatanatyam artiste Leela Samson. It was a life-changing experience to study at Kalakshetra, and training under Leela was very educative, she says.
