The Asam Sahitya Sabha is planning to apply to Unesco for recognition as the world’s largest literary organisation.
The sabha on Sep 9 also announced the progress of projects that it had undertaken.

“We are trying to bridge the gap between the Brahmaputra Valley and the Barak Valley through literary and cultural exchange programmes. The organisation has also completed the groundwork to set up a branch office in New Delhi.
