Eminent historian, researcher and writer, Dr Suryanath U Kamath and vice admiral B R Rao have been chosen for the ‘Vishisht Sadhana Award’ being given annually by Dr T M A Foundation Manipal to the personalities belonging to Konkani-speaking community with excellent achievements to their credit.
Foundation chairman, T Mohandas Pai, informed that the awards will be handed over to Dr Kamath and Rao at a function to be held at Fortune Inn Valley View Hotel in Manipal at 5.30 pm on April 28.
On this occasion, the Dr T M A Pai Award for the best Konkani book will be given to Suresh G Amonkar for his book, ‘Rosal Konkani Jnaneshwari’. Tukaram R Shet will get the commendation award for his work, ‘Dhartareko Sparsh’.
