A close connect…

Take a stand or collapse, says Sadhna Shanker in her debut novel “Never a Disconnect”, as she shares the genesis of the story

It's about choices you make – the choices that affect not just you but those who are immediately connected to you, your peers and contemporaries. Hence, there is “never a disconnect”. And for sure, you too will find a quick ‘connect' in case you read the story of three women namely, Abha, Rekha and Simran that Sadhna Shanker, an Indian Revenue Service Officer, has penned in her debut novel, “Never a Disconnect'. The 305-page novel published by Niyogi Books will be launched next Tuesday by Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao.

An engrossing story, scribbled mostly in ‘dialogues' by the 45-year-old author, it is about three Delhi University women “on a rollercoaster ride of romance, idealism and dreams only to wake up to the realities of life defined in failed and falling relationships, parenthood, religious differences, heaps of hope, complex desires,” says Sadhna.
