Bangalore library gutted in fire

More than 20,000 books were gutted when a fire broke out in a library run by a private trust in Bangalore in the wee hours today, police said. Two fire tenders took half an hour to douse the flames, they said.

Manjunath, trust owner and a BJP member, in his police complaint alleged that the fire was the handiwork of a JDS candidate, Anjanappa, who is contesting the coming polls to city corporation from Padmanabhanagar ward, where the library is located.

Police said investigations were on.
