Noted Punjabi poet Surjit Patar, who was recently selected for the 'Sarswati Samman' for his famous work 'Lafzaan de Dargah', was congratulated today by the Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal for getting the coveted honour.
In a congratulatory message, the Chief Minister described Patar as an iconic figure who had made immense contribution to the promotion and development of the Punjabi language and literature.
Badal said Patar has really done proud to Punjab and hoped that he would continue his endeavour to bring many more such laurels to the state in the future.
