New memoir advocates self-awareness to change individual destiny

Man From Five Rivers by Joseph Vaz reveals how a positive outlook helped the author achieve the life of his dreams

Man From Five Rivers follows author Joseph Vaz from his difficult childhood in India to stowing away on a ship, going to prison, and becoming a husband and father.

Human beings are only using five percent of their potential, says Vaz in Man From Five Rivers, but it doesn't have to be that way. In this memoir, he chronicles his own transformation. Through traveling all over the world, intense meditations, reading and being open to new experiences, Vaz is able to craft a profoundly new view of the world and of himself.

Throughout his travels from Dubai to London to India, Vaz makes deliberate and conscious choices that alter his life and render it fuller and richer for him. He stays positive because he believes that will help him best attract more positive outcomes. "You can be master of your destiny if you have faith in yourself," claims Vaz, and he aims for his memoir to act as a stepping-stone for others to do the same.
