Bachchan to read poetry at Marathi meet

Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan will recite Marathi poems at the 83rd All India Marathi Literary Meet on March 28. He will read poems from his father Harivanshrai Bachchan’s classic Madhushala.

Bachchan’s presence at the valedictory function is being seen as significant as he and his family had been under fire from the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), which had alleged that the Bachchan family had no ‘Marathi pride’ and hardly made any contribution to Maharashtra.

Amitabh’s presence will also be significant in the backdrop of his company Amitabh Bachchan Corporation Limited producing Marathi film Vihir directed by Umesh Kulkarni. He has also expressed the desire to produce more Marathi films.
