King of art books publisher, Taschen, has just published one of the most comprehensive books ever exploring the fantastic imagery behind India's movie industry, The Art of Bollywood.
Edited by Paul Duncan, who has helped compile over 50 books for the company, and featuring text by Indian film music expert and collector Edo Bouman and Mumbai-based fillmmaker/writer Rajesh Devraj, this 192-page book features a wide range of hand-painted images pulled from reprints and collector hand-me-downs.
The Art of Bollywood specializes in hard-to-find shots that were rarely seen, as well as street publicity campaigns and cinema displays. You can also take a look at a number of the images in the book here.
