After a gap of 49 years, Gadag hosted the All India Kannada Literary Meet, as its 76th chapter got off to a colourful start at the Vidyadan Samiti Pre-University College Ground on Friday.
On Friday morning, District in-charge Minister Sriramulu marked the beginning of the three-day literary meet, which is expected to attract about 3 lakh people, by hoisting the national flag.
The president of the meet, Nadoja Geeta Nagabhushan was taken out in a grand procession from Bhoomaraddi Circle to VDSTC Grounds. Braving the scorching sun, a large number of people thronged the grounds to witness the inaugural ceremony.
