The Vishwa Kannada Sammelana (VKS) in Belgaum, tentatively fixed for February 2011, will be more than a show of culture.
Apart from discussion sessions on literature, heritage, the status of Kannada and development of the state, the Sammelana will be a meeting place for all non-resident Kannadigas who are successful in various fields.
"We will honour all people of Karnataka origin who have made it big outside the state and abroad. They will also get a chance to meet each other in the sessions on economy, industrial development, technology and IT," industries minister Murugesh Nirani told `The Times of India'.
