Friday's Maha Shivaratri will be special for Mysoreans, reports the Times of India.
The educational and cultural hub will celebrate the religious event with extended Kannada Pustakotsava. The book mela hosted by the Kannada Book Authority from February 10-14 aims at promoting Kannada and culture of Karnataka. On Friday, the exhibition will be open till midnight and there will be cultural events too, Authority chief and writer Siddalingaiah said on Sunday.
The mega exhibition and sale of books at the Maharaja's College grounds is themed Kannada, Kannadiga, Karnataka. The five-day Kannada Pustakotsava has 100 stalls where some 100 publishers are displaying their publications. Speaking to reporters, Siddalingaiah said: "The mela will be open between 10 am and 8 pm. But on February 12, it will be open till midnight and there will be cultural events too." On other days, the cultural events will be hosted from 5.30 pm.
