The relationship between Mahatma Gandhi and his eldest son Harilal Gandhi has intrigued the masses and has influenced many cinematic and theatrical explorations.Now, it has also caught the attention of India's prestigious National academy of Literature -— the Sahitya Akademi.
The biography of Harilal Gandhi written by Chandulal Bhagubhai Dalal in Gujarati which was edited and translated in to English by Prof Tridip Suhrud Harilal Gandhi: A Life has been selected for the Sahitya Akademi award.
Confirming the information, the convener of the English Board North Indian languages department of Sahitya Akademi, Alok Bhalla said, "English translation of Harilal Gandhi's Biography done by Tridip Suhrud has been selected by the jury for the award.
