Kadammanitta Foundation to promote Malayalam

The Kadammanitta Ramakrishnan Foundation, which started functioning on Tuesday, will work for the development and spread of the Malayalam language and literature.

The Foundation, to be based at the late poet’s native village of Kadammanitta, will spread its activity to all areas where Malayalis live, Foundation president Dr B.Ekbal said at the inaugural of the Foundation. It will also function as a study centre for literature and culture, he said.Inaugurating the Foundation, advisory committee chairman O.N.V.Kurup said that poets had life even after death.

Kadammanitta was an inimitable poet who invoked the goddess from her ‘kovil’ or grove with the power and authority of a devotee to protect ‘us and nature’, he said. A foundation in the name of Kadammanitta is not for any benefit to the late poet, but for the benefit of ourselves, he said. He handed over the first membership to Dr B.Ekbal. Vice-chairman of the Foundation Adoor Gopalakrishnan presided over the function
